Quick disclaimer
This FAQ is general guidance only. For professional inspection, certification, or legal advice, consult qualified professionals.
What is PlumbingProtect?
PlumbingProtect is a documentation-first platform designed to help homeowners create a strong audit trail for plumbing works. It structures job information, prompts for evidence, and generates a report pack to reduce disputes.
Is PlumbingProtect insurance?
No. PlumbingProtect is not an insurance product, warranty scheme, or compensation fund. It provides documentation and guidance.
Do you guarantee the plumber’s work?
No. We do not carry out plumbing works and we do not guarantee outcomes. Your agreement and any warranties are between you and the plumber.
What evidence should I upload?
At minimum:
- Clear “before” photos
- Mid-work photos (especially anything that will be hidden)
- “After” photos and any test results
- Quote/invoice/receipts
- Written communications (WhatsApp/email)
Can a plumber refuse to be documented?
A plumber can set their own terms, but transparency is a good sign of professionalism. If a plumber refuses basic documentation or reasonable evidence steps, consider that a red flag.
How long does report generation take?
It depends on the complexity of the job and whether additional clarification is needed. Some jobs can be processed quickly; others may require more time to ensure the record is coherent.
What if I made a mistake in my submission?
If you spot an error, correct it as soon as possible and keep your updates in writing. The sooner the record is corrected, the stronger your audit trail stays.
Can I use PlumbingProtect for emergency jobs?
Yes — but safety comes first. In emergencies, stop the damage (isolate water/heat) and capture evidence where possible. Even a few “before” photos and written scope notes can help later.
Do you store my files and photos?
Storage and retention depends on the service configuration and current product setup. Regardless, you should always keep your own copies of everything (cloud + backup).
How do signatures work?
Signatures can be captured digitally or via printed sign-off, depending on the workflow. The key is that both parties acknowledge the scope and any changes in writing.
What payment method should I use?
Use card wherever possible and avoid cash. Card payments create a traceable record. Only pay once the job is completed and tested (unless a reasonable deposit is agreed in writing).
Do you handle complaints or disputes for me?
No. PlumbingProtect does not act as a legal authority or representative. We provide documentation tools to help you present evidence clearly. For disputes, use official routes and professional advice if needed.
What is your refund policy?
Once a report pack is generated, it is considered delivered digital work. As a rule, there are no refunds after generation. Refer to the Terms of Service for full details.
Is PlumbingProtect a substitute for a professional inspection?
No. If you need confirmation of compliance, safety, certification, or formal inspection, you should use qualified professionals. PlumbingProtect focuses on documentation, evidence, and best-practice guidance.
